If you like Boyle's work, you'll most likely appreciate Sunshine. It’s one of those films that I spent hours arguing with people about.

Thats been my expectation and one of the reason I am willing to buy one of the current BD players, if the price is right of course. If that isn't the case and I can't play the disc at all....well I will probably be waiting even longer.

I just found out that you can play the PiP seperatly in full screen from the special features menu. That's pretty neat.

Never saw the movie, may rent it.

Geesh, they finally get around to a true 1.1 title and it's one of the worst films of the year. No sale. But at least blu-ray is heading in the right direction now with their technology.

I'm just surprised that Fox is the pioneer on the 1.1 disc and not Sony.

Looking at the history of DVD releases, it doesn't surprise me. When Fox did finally jump on the DVD bandwagon, their interactive content/menus blew everyone else away. They even supported Nuon players.

How could you think this was one of the worst films of the year? I could understand not liking it very much, but "worst film"?

The sheer visceral experience of this film is reason enough to own it in HD. And while I did have problems with its narrative--and I never expected 2001 when I walked in--I thought, overall, it was a solid effort by Boyle and company.

Well, let's see. For one thing it was a ripoff of about three other films all mashed together without any narrative cohesion. A blatant 2010 ripoff, till then end when it becomes Alien with a little Solaris thrown in for good measure. When the computer reported there was an extra crewman onboard I half expected them to find Dave Bowman. I actually laughed outloud at some of the nutty physics in this film. I can't remember when I've seen a film as bad in almost every aspect. I almost expected a "directed by Uwe Boll" credit to come up when the fiilm was over. I've never been impressed by any of Boyle's other work, but this is the bottom rung even for him.

Well, if you’ve never liked any of Boyle’s films then we have little to discuss here.
