Face/Off Blu Ray (UK) v.s HD-DVD (US)
I bought the UK BD Face/Off a while back, and I just Netflixed the US HD-DVD to compare. The BD uses AVC where the US verson uses VC-1. The PQ on the US version is notably better. While the BD does have decent PQ, the HD-DVD is sharper and has more accurate colors. The PCM audio found on the BD version is however MUCH better than the mere DTS 6.1 track on te HD-DVD, better soundfield, and deeper tighter bass.
The BD version also has a few cuts since they used the censored version for some reason. Ultimatly I think I'll get the HD-DVD eventually... oops hehe. ![]()

Face/Off
Yeah, that was being discussed over here. I was surprised that Paramount would allow for Face/Off to be done on blu-ray.

Also, if you notice, the extras that the HD DVD version was initially missing (that were on the now cancelled BD version) were put onto a second disc for the final HD DVD release.
