It's a combo, so I'll probably pick up the HD. It probably won't cost much more than the double-disc special edition.

On a side note, Batman: Gotham Knight is yet another release which 'kinda' is a tie in of sorts to TDK. At least I think so. Umaine' got me fired up over football talk so my mind may be elsewhere.

I really like the artwork. Here’s hoping it’s better than Superman: Doomsday.

Must you go on about this every time you post something?

The JLA show was good, so I think I will probably pick this one up.

There's no continuity between the show and this movie/story. It has a totally different vibe.

Pirate, it is better than Superman: Doomsday, but it still has that funky DTV atmosphere all of these movies seem to have.

It's based on the DC: The New Frontier comic from a few years back, which takes place during the original DC golden age in the 50s. So it's very different from the TV show.

[Voice of Comic Book Guy]Excuse me, but that story is, in fact, taking place during the Silver Age of comics.[/Voice of Comic Book Guy]

Don't know about the video, but if you really want to be technical about it the comic takes place in both, the end of the gold and start of the sliver.

It's been a few years since I've read the comics, but the video seemed to follow the series pretty closely.

interesting to see the HD DVD pushed back, i noticed WB doing this with other titles, i wonder if they just want to keep pushing them back untill they are at a point they don't have to release them at all

save money seeing as most consumers will pick up the blu versions

No, in the original Warner annoucement it stated that their hd-dvds would now be a bit behind the release of the blu-ray version. So this is just following what they already said they were going to do with hd-dvds. My guess is the theory is that most people will want the title quickly and not want to wait, so they'll break down and buy the blu-ray version. Sort of their way of trying to slowly get everyone to swtich over before they stop releasing completely.
