I really don't see how you cannot like this movie. It is a nice tale of a girl making smart choices after on big bad choice. As far as the dialog goes this how young people talk. I have two nieces 16 and 18 you speak just like the characters. It is no different than the dialog in Singles or Dazed and Confused or even American Graffiti. Not every movie has to use the Queen's language to be considered great or a foreign tongue with Yellow subtitles.

While I might disagree with your morality judgments, I'll say that I didn't hate the film; I just refuse to drool over it for the sake of popular opinion. Like Little Miss Sunshine, Juno is an amusing, sometimes funny, film that has a lot of charm—but a deceiving, blinding charm, in my opinion. It’s a film that runs on quirkier-than-thou aesthetics rather than a real, honest narrative.

Cody’s script is almost completely without genuine conflict. Most of the characters are just versions of Juno—and not in an interesting metaphysical way. Really, you couldn’t ask for a better environment in which to be a pregnant teenager.

Also, I have sisters, so I know how teenagers talk. Juno captures some of the zeitgeist of teenage communication, but it’s a glossy, scripted version that I found more grating than insightful. And let’s not even discuss the fact that film’s momentum all but stops (twice!) to focus on the hamburger phone.

I know I'm in the extreme minority here, and I’m not saying that Juno is completely without worth; it just has no business winning the Oscar for best screenplay, and should be nowhere near the best picture category.

Amen

I never liked the film when it first premiered here in NY, and I posted about it in the "what did you just see" thread

Loved ths film, so I will definately be getting this. Nice, classy cover art too. Way to go Fox for using the poster. I wish they didn't need to put "Digital Copy" on the box though; that could be a sticker instead.
