It's offical I have gone purple. Order a Panasonic BD30 player. The supplier I use had a good offer on, they were selling the player with 10 movies. I have the following :-

Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Hellboy
Ratatouille
Shoot 'em up
The Rock
Superbad
Wildhogs
Cars

Also brought Spiderman 3, Close encounters of the 3rd kind & I am Legend.

Watched Shoot 'em up last night and boy was i impressed PQ awesome (running in 24fps) ans SQ made the house shake.

Overall very happy, Still keep my Hd-DVD tho and my credit card is bleeding because of all the HD-DVD software sales.

OK, I almost did something stupid today. I had several hundred dollars in my hand and I was planning on going out and not coming home until I had found a Blu Ray player.

The need to see No Country For Old Men and I Am Legend in HD was pretty strong.

Some online checking and a few phone calls to box stores burst my bubble and I decided that I can wait at least another month. The inability to find a good (or even decent) quality player for around $450, plus the lower cost players' lack of the newer profiles has made me lose interest for now.

Even eBay failed me. All that is on there for a decent price is the Samsung 1400. And from what I've read about that player, even at the $330 price tag, its problems and twitchy playback outweigh the cost. Most of the 1400's on eBay are refurbished models too, so no thanks.

However, Buckster, regarding my PM to you, I would still like you to get back to me about the deal you got on the BD30 and discs. If the price was right and the offer is still on, I might be interested in having one of those players shipped up here.

ps3 is a great player for 400 and it can be updated to 2.0
