I would also add BCI's The Night of the Werewolf/Vengeance of the Zombies, both discs have very obvious A/V lagging issues on my PS3, to the point of not being able to watch them. Others have experienced this as well.

PCM soundtrack popping/distortion
I would say this just "could" be an inherent problem to the source, all audio masters aren't "perfect" even in lossless. Probably the case more so now with everyone freaking out about the DTS MA popping issues and over-analyzing the tracks they're listening to.

! Need more information to determine if this is a disc issue
Over at AVS it seems this is happening on a variety of equipment/configurations.

Regarding Unbreakable, the popping distortion is not in the Dolby Digital track, so I believe it is not master related... Chicago is unconfirmed, but the person who remarked about it stated the same thing.

I will add more to it later, I actually have to run!

Only on HD DVD, hasn't made it to BD yet.

There's no popping or distortion for me playing the PCM track back on my BDP-S1. In fact it's one of the clearest, best sounding discs I have.

If the problem was on the disc itself, why would it only be heard when bitstreaming? It should make no difference whether the decoding is taking place in the player or the amp, it's still decoding the same track. If the error was on the disc itself you should hear it either way.

That is good to hear. I only heard one person complain of this, so its good to hear more input on it - reason why I put it in the unconfirmed section.

I also doubt is a disc issue though I imagine it is possible it could be some authoring glitch. I expect this to be addressed via player firmware updates so I stuck it in the unconfirmed section.

Fireplace - Visions of Tranquility Original release doesn't work on PS3

They did re-encode the disc for an all around replacement. Future releases & replacement program.

Did we have a thread for HD DVD?

I'd say that deserved one more so than BD. Heck Tons & tons of discs wouldn't play "Properly" on any of the Toshiba model players.

Just what are these titles, because out of 100 HD-DVD's or so that I own I don't have a single one that fails to play properly. Only ones I've had any problems with are the Weinstein discs, which take forever to load, and The Matador in specific which did pause once while playing it. I've said it over and over and I'll say it again, the problems people were having were in the players, not the discs. Get a good player, you'll have no problems.

No. Because if you look at the author of this thread and the admin who stickied it, you would know why one was never created. There is even a Blu-ray glitch thread in the Glitch area. But nope, we need it prominently stickied on this thread. After all, we didn't learn that 3rd generation HD-DVD players were poor quality until after the format lost. Then suddenly Ruined was more forthcoming.

I could point out that there's also an entire deals section of the board, yet we have a thread about hd deals posted here as well. So get over yourself and don't be an ass.
Also, as I stated above, a majority of the problems with hd-dvd were player related, not disc related. Thus a disc that glitched for some didn't for others.

Well, that's enough of that.

If there is a glitch in a title, then start a thread in the HD software section for that title and state the glitch there, or add to the current thread if one already exists.

It seems to me that some folks around here need to wake up to the fact that the format war is over. Continuing to bang the "Blu Ray Sucks" drum, even in clever and subtle ways, isn't getting anything accomplished.
