I'm liking this digital copy thing. I might buy this just to support digital copies for blu-ray movies. I think this solves issues that people have with being able to use the content in other ways that aren't allowed with the standard bd disc. It is also preferable to the combo option that was maligned with hd-dvd, from both opponents and supporters.

I actually think we should oppose these digital copies. I’m against watching films on anything smaller than 50".

Can't digital copies be put on PC's for those like Ruined who like to watch their movies from their server?

Probably. But, again, I don't like poor people.

In theory the digital copy thing is great, but I don't know about the reality of it. What format is it actually in? And most importantly, what's the resolution?

Honestly I would rather just have the ability to rip the copy myself from the original, then I can adjust the resolution to whatever portable device I want.

Sort of like how it's pretty standard to do with a CD.

Why are all these movies I cant stand coming out on Blu week after week yet movies I love like Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Almost Famous, The Virgin Suicides, Jaws, etc, not? This makes me madder than a ruined post.

Because these movies make money and raise awareness of the format. Most consumers are not going to buy a new format so they can see The Virgin Suicides in HD. Sad, but true.

BTW, you can get Almost Famous from the UK.

Was the Eye really popular enough to raise awareness of anything other than J-lo being a terrible actress?

I know about almost famous being available. However ordering imports into Canada can be extremely costly.

No, but crap like this tends to do well on home video. Like with Alvin and the Chipmunks, all the major stores will heavily advertise the DVD/BD release. And it's J-al, not J-lo.

Yeah, I think we've heard quite a few people say they won't rebuy certain movies on HD. So that might be a deterrent as well.
