Cool Hand Luke on Blu-ray

Warner Bringing 'Cool Hand Luke' to Blu-ray this September | High-Def Digest

This may be one I get just because I have never seen it, but heard so much about it. I know it's worth viewing, but is it worth a blind buy?

One of my all-time favorite films. Normally I don't condone blind-buying, but in this case . . .

This was one of the films recently restored in 4K by Warner and yes, it's worth a blind buy.

This is absolutely worth a blind buy!

I can't believe you've never seen this Ganthc!?!?!

I use two lines from this movie (as well as my coworker) all the time!

"What we have here is a failure to communicate!"

"I'm shaking it Boss! I'm shaking it!"

It's just been one of those films I never really took the time to see. Even more surprising, I just saw The Godfather II for the first time this weekend. I am playing catchup with the classics now that I have Netflix and some time to spend watching those.

Ganthc, I’d actually recommend watching the SD-DVD. It’ll look great on BD, but why wait till September?

I can wait. No rush for me. If I've gone this long without seeing it, I can at least wait until I own it in September.

You're probably right. Kinda like going all these years without a killer sub. No rush.

Phew! This movie and the Godfather movies are ones I was ashamed to admit I had never seen. I have my Netflix queue stock full of old classic movies that I hadn't seen, but needed to. I have seen "On the Waterfront," and "Vertigo." I plan on seeing a lot of Oscar winners to bone up on my movie cred.

It was in a Guns N Roses song.

We need a "movie cred" thread where we each offer up what films count towards said cred.

Dugpa, Sehnzeleid, and you are obviously the Illuminati of the movie cred.

I think even the three of us would disagree on which films "count."

Obviously, there's no such thing as the "right" films. It all comes down to why you watch. We have several members who are very knowledgeable about specific genres such as 80's action cinema and Italian horror. So, for them, cinema credibility may go no farther than John McClane and Mario Bava.

I know, I was saying all that tongue in cheek. Yes, there are plenty on this forum who have varied interests. For example, if there is a horror recommendation, I would probably go to Monro before asking you. And if I was looking for a Jesus film, I would definitely not see you as the genre expert.

I know you knew that I know you know. I was just clarifying that, while I am an elitist, I'm not an elitist prick.

I like the cover art. Very clean and...blue. I am almost sure that I will be getting this movie.

Looks like this won't be a digi-book, and will have lossless audio.

Why the fuck does Warner seem to feel the need to make the lossless track a damn remix?
