My wallet just screamed. It was weird.

I hope they clean up some of the EE for these reissues.

I was just about to post about wondering if this was a possibility, because the four 10-disc Ultimate Edition SD sets have been on sale at Best Buy for $24.99 for the last three or four weeks in a row, which I figured could only mean some kind of new release on the horizon.

Oh, sorry, I meant each...each of the 4 sets is $24.99. Typo. Still, $25 for a 10-disc set finally persuaded me to pick them up, impending BD or not.

I bought some of the single releases when they were remasted and thought they looked great. I bet they look even better on Blu! I wished my receiver could hanble the new soundtracks .

Maybe by Christmas the movies will be available here.

I only bought a few of the old ones, think I'll colelct em all now as they come out. Really want the Timothy Dalton movies, those had exceptionally shitty DVD transfers.

The new DVDs were definitely vast improvements, as you can see here:

But there were still some ugly images in there:

Update from HDD:

Quote:
UPDATE: (6/05/08, 1:30pm ET) According to late word from Fox France, 'Goldeneye' and 'Tomorrow Never Dies' will not be among their first six Bond BD releases. Instead, they've been replaced by 'From Russia with Love' and 'For Your Eyes Only.' We've updated the titles listed in the post below accordingly.

I'm just happy with any Bond releases on Blu Ray. Also all the more Connery ones the better.

First Six Classic Bond Titles To Hit Blu-ray this October | High-Def Digest

It's official which movies are being chosen for blu-ray this fall. However, I woudl hardly classify "Die Another Day" as a "classic" Bond film.

Those are some good titles for an initial release. Thunderball and Dr. No are definitely two of the best Bonds ever made. I have never owned a Bond on DVD, so I am glad I haven't fallen yet for one of the dozen rereleases yet! Cool cool!

I unfortunately have bought every single release on dvd. I'll be first in line to get the blu rays too.

I'm up for Dr. No, From Russia with Love and Thunderball. Though if they have a box set I might just get them all.

Same here. Knowing the Fox pricing system, it really will be the best deal to get them in a box set.

Honestly the recent box sets look so good, these will have to be DAMN impressive.

As a Bond fanatic I will buy them either way, but if they want to impress these better be amazing. The recent editions upconverted look better than some BDs I own.

The Bond movies are up for preorder on Amazon at $23.95, which is surprising considering it's Fox that is doing the release.

Honestly, I don’t think the cover art is that bad. I do think the prices are a bit steep, though. Espcially considering that the recent reissues are on sale for $5 at Best Buy right now. I know $23 is cheap for Fox, but still.

Out of all of the Bond films (aside from Casino Royale), I'd only buy Goldfinger again on Blu-ray. I find the rest pretty mediocre.

Yeah, only Pierce Brosnan got a decent face shot on those cover arts.

Moore looks good on the Live and Let Die cover... it's the design I have a problem with. Honestly I would want them to use original theatrical poster art, but I guess that's a niche desire. They could at least come up with better shit than this, though... but then the covers have always been crap for these movies.

Has anyone heard how the 3pks will be on these? I'm assuming that since it's a fox release, that the 3pks will be like the Die Hard set - one case,4 discs. I preordered all six films, but not in the 3 pks.
