Great film. One of the film films from my childhood that I can still watch as an adult. But if you're looking for dark films or something deep you best look elsewhere. It's a good little light sentimental fantasy film, nothing more.

And Shawns avatar is reminiscent of a scene in the film. Except its not a kitty cat in the film its a real pissy wolf.

I haven't seen this movie in forever but like Dugpa this movie is something I can still watch today.

I've seen the film from my childhood but unlike dugpa & umainebearman, I can't remember a damn thing about it other than it being a fantasy type film ala Labyrinth.

Kid hides from bullies in a bookstore, steals a magical book, starts reading it and as he does the story becomes more and more real.

ya, thats about it. highly recommended. it was directed by Wolfgang "Das Boot-Air Force One" Petersen and has some genuinely frightening moments especially for a kid. Never seeing this is like never having seen Gremlins or Ghostbusters.

This was one of those I loved as a kid... and I've learned from past attempts at watching childhood favorites, best to leave them in memory more often than not lol.

I loved this movie as a kid, and I rewatched it on dvd last year. I still thought it held up well, even though some things were not as good. I will definitely get this one. This movie, The Last Starfighter, Dark Crystal, and Flight of the Navigator were some of my favorite sci-fi 80's flicks.

Is it just me or are so many movies getting BD releases that never had good SD releases? I fear this because I just expect the BD to be crappy like the SD.

Warner is doing it, so hopefully they do a slight remaster of the film. I still expect a significant upgrade for the film, but from the reading of the audio, there won't be a lossless track. Probably was recorded in 2.0 Dolby anyways.

We need a new, digital Falkor. Cause old Falkor's voice doesn't seem to work so well with his mouth.
