Wow, I haven't seen this movie since it first came out. I might get it depending on the reviews.

The Sarris commentary alone will make this worth the price. While I don't agree with his scholarly positions (he belongs to a specific art-historical tradition along with David Bordwell and Noel Carroll that favors the art of critical appreciation over a serious consideration of current theoretical perspectives), he's undeniably one of the most important figures in contemporary film criticism, and has done more than anyone else in the English-speaking world to advance the French New Wave's (also problematic) "auteur theory". I'll probably get very frustrated at points in his commentary, but he'll undoubtedly contribute an outstanding and intelligent discussion. Bravo to Warners for taking a cue from Criterion and continuing on the path of the Matrix Collection (and Schickel's Eastwood commentaries, Ebert's Casablanca, Kane, and Dark City commentaries to name just a couple others) with these scholars' and critics' tracks. I, for one, would like to see this trend continue.

This will be my 1st blu ray purchase when I eventually get a player. Best movie of the 90's IMO, and Spinotti's photography should look great in HD.

If this is covered by the new Warner pricing model, then this is an easy buy.
