"Your older receiver will play back DTS-HD material with DTS surround audio at twice the data rate of other DVD video surround formats. Meaning? You get immediate compatibility and a boost in quality"
-dts website anything that backs this up? |

Thats true if your BR player is decoding the stream. I receiver does not decode DD HD or dts HD MA but the ps3 does and I can definitely tell the difference between regular DD and DTS and there HD counterparts.

I don't know about components. I use hdmi to the receiver and then to the tv. I am quite sure you'll see a HUGE picture quality difference and will be able to tell your listening to an HD audio stream.

dts-HDHR & dts-HDMA push the limits as well but these are not night & day differences from dts-HD but are worlds ahead of standard dts. |
