Grindhouse: Planet Terror & Death Proof on 12/16

thedigitalbits is reporting that both flicks are due seperately on 12/16. It looks like they mirror that of the DVD counterparts with no new features and not packaged together like they were seen in theaters.

I just dunno how I feel about this. I just watched the complete Grindhouse on Starz HD, and it was a very fun experience. They need to be seen back to back with all the trailers damnit!

Agreed. I will still hold out for one volume.

The all-in-one experience is great, but Planet Terror in 2.4:1 is also a must. Hopefully, I can be looking forward to a Japanese BD box set.

wait a minute - it seems like Blu-Ray manufacturers actually think they can dick around the customer and give sub-standard releases, expecting people to double-dip like they were back in 2004?!

The studios just don't get it, do they?

I dont mind them breaking them up since I like the extended cuts better, but for pete's sake give us all the damn trailers!

Ditto that. I think they work fine on their own, and I know a lot of people liked Planet Terror more than Death Proof, so selling them separate is no big deal, but they should at least carry over the trailer material on each.

It's weird, everyone Ive asked that saw Grindhouse in the theater with the movies together preferred Planet Terror.

Everyone that saw the movies seperately preferred Death Proof. I liked DP alot more just because Im a big QT fan and Im not a fan of zombie flicks.

Actually after seeing them together theatrically, I prefer Death Proof. Only in recent viewings did Planet Terror grow on me.

Neither of them were all that great in the theater, but if I had to choose one I'd go with Death Proof.
