What's the deal with Universal?

Ever since they started releasing BDs the RRP of each title has been considerably higher than they were for HD DVD. Can we expect this to continue or will they lower them in the near future?

I suspect Toshiba was subsidizing Universal's HD-DVDs a bit, thus the reason they were lower. Eventually prices will come down, as they will for all the studios. But for now we're probably stuck with this pricing.

Ah, it's pricing. Yeah, the prices are higher on new releases, but tend to go down as time goes on. Then again, maybe they just stay high in the UK.

Actually, just looking through some of their titles on Amazon, it looks like the price on their blu-ray versions are pretty much right in line with what they were when hd-dvd was still a viable format. So I don't really see any big price difference between the formats.

I saw it completely the other way. was surprised at how low i was seeing a good chunk of the movies at around $26 Cnd. Which is pretty damn good for new releases but i expect them to go up with them now getting a Digital Copy to go along with them

UHE is releasing a lot of 3-packs so that helps. Amazon has a bunch of 3-packs for under $60 so all in all I think they are making the switch for consumers easier.

WHV has finally started their reduced pricing. Catalogs can now be had for $15 or less.
