Method Man - Tical 0: The Prequel
I have his other albums and wanted to add this to my Wu collection. Apart form the fact there's a different producer for each track on first play I quite like this album, but I don't think it's as good as his last two. Ghostface - The Pretty Toney Album Again I wanted to add this to my Wu collection, I have two of his other albums. I heard 'Tush' a while and liked the old school funky feel to so thought I'd check the album. On first play I like it. Wu Tang Clan - Iron Flag I saw this album for £4.99 and thougt I'd add it to the Wu collection. I've always liked 'Uzi (Pinky Ring)' and on first play I liked some of the production from RZA on this, but nothing will live up the the Wu's debut album. Ludacris - Chicken & Beer I have his other two albums and thought I'd add this to it. On first play it doesn't sound anything special, but there were a few beats I thought were alright. Brandy - Full Moon I got this to replace a copy I had of the album. I've follwed Brandy since her early days. I feel this is quite a solid album. Brandy - Afrodisiac After hearing way back that Timbaland was involved with this album I've been anxious to hear it, I've liked 'Talk About Our Love' since I heard it a couple of months ago. On first play, I like it. Vocally Brandy has grown and she's singing about her life experiences of late: her split from her husband for example. I like the reference she makes to Coldplay's 'Sparks' in 'I Tried' and her the use of Coldplay's 'Clocks' sample in 'Should I Go'. Overall the production on the album is quite nice. I think it's a good addition to her previous albums and shows a more grown up side of Brandy. |

Re: Last CD Purchased
Quote:
Alright, again... this thread has proven very helpful in introducing me to new music. I'm addicted to "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand. And I used my 2 free song downloads from Micky D's @ www.connect.com to download "Jacqueline" and "The Dark Of The Matinee" because they were the 2nd and 3rd most downloaded on iTunes. I think you are right, I will like this album. I'm on the hunt for a used copy for a week or so, and then I may get desperate enough to go buy it new. Being an ex-jock (radio) I grew accustomed to getting any CD I wanted from the record labels, so I'm still very choosy about what I buy, and how much I spend. I'm also looking into this Modest Mouse CD that you all have been buying. "Float On" has grown on me, but not like Franz... Next, I'll look more closely at this A.C. Newman. I'm loving discovering music that I would normally never listen to! OH... and by the way... Mlemmond, judging by what you have posted that you have been listening to lately, I have decided in my mind that our music tastes are the most similar so far. John Mayer, Matchbox 20, Oasis, Beasties, Pretenders, Fleetwood Mac, Marvin Gaye, The Beatles, Don Henley, Tom Petty, Louis Armstrong, Coldplay... you threw me with the Coverdale Page, Blue Murder and Jessica Simpson... but I forgive you. And… my last purchase was the 1992 CD single for "Crucify" by Tori Amos. It has her doing a cover of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit", and I've been looking for it for a while. I found it used last night! ![]() Last edited by jjunker : 07-17-2004 at 01:44 PM. |
