Candlebox concert last night
Concerts for me are a love it/hate it ordeal. I love to see bands I like perform live, and I like to be amongst fellow fans as they groove to the same music I am. I just wish said fans weren't such assholes...
Anyway, it was a great show. Most of the songs they performed were from their first (and highest selling) CD, but they did enough material from Lucy and Happy Pills to make us long time fans pleased. Their lead singer, Kevin Martin, was phenomenal even though he said he was trying to get over a cold. I had a blast. The opening bands, Auto Escape and Driveblind, were great too, but Driveblind really blew me away. I had never heard of them before last night, but they had this great 70's meets the 00's vibe, and I really wish I'd picked up one of their CD's. So, though I doubt there are many Candlebox fans here, I thought I'd post this up and let you know that I had a great night. If you're a fan, head over to their site and see if they're coming to a venue near you. |

I wouldn't call myself a fan, but I did listen to them around '94-'95, and went to a concert around '95. Honestly, I don't remember much, including the music, except the lead singer handing a joint to a member of the crowd and telling everybody to light up. I have never done drugs or been around them much, so that was quite an eye opener. :P I hadn't seen anything like that again until seeing NIN this spring. I swear I could smell weed for over a week.
