New NIN?

Man, I just heard about this yesterday. I don't know how I missed a new NIN release. I guess I just wasn't expecting something else so soon. Six years in b/w Downward Spiral and Fragile, and another 6 in between that an With Teeth.

Anyway, anyone here have it and how is it?

No, he isn't. He is talking about Year Zero. And yes, I own it and it is a good album. Really well done and cool concept. Be on the look out for Year Zero II in '08.

A buddy of mine just told me about it maybe a month ago. I had no idea either, and wasn't expecting it. I totally forgot about it until a few days ago, and haven't had the opportunity to pick it up.

It's only been out about a month or so now.

I absolutely love Year Zero... I liked it at first, but after a few listens I have grown to totally love it.

I can't wait until they announce a US tour.

This was an excellent cd. Didnt feel rushed at all. Did anybody else notice that the cd is heat sensitive? it changes colors in hot and cold weather. Nifty.

That's just about how I've felt with every NIN album, except Pretty Hate Machine. Some I've like a lot from the start, but I generally find myself liking or loving them more over time, and I rarely tire of it. I was probably the least excited about With Teeth, yet it's been in my CD player in my truck regularly since it came out.

My buddy actually told me about the new album two or three days before it was released, and I'm surprised I still haven't picked it up. Definately curious about this color changing thing.

Firestorm,

Are you saying that it didn't take multiple listens to like PHM, or are you saying that you don't like it? I couldn't figure out which way to take your statement.

I got Year Zero, and I listened to the first 6 tracks or so while driving to work today. I'm having a weird reaction to it so far. In a way, it seems like it'll take some getting used to. But in another way, I've liked each song (so far) immediately upon hearing it - especially Capital G. I guess I'm just expecting to like it that much more upon multiple listens.

So far, I've not heard anything that sounds remotely "radio friendly", but I'm thinking that wasn't Trent's goal in making this album.
