A Room with A View - I can listen to that soundtrack anytime, any day. Its just so beautiful

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil - Great jazzy soundtrack

Empire Records - cool songs and good variety. I guess all soundtracks are like that.

Trainspotting - kicks arse!

Fave movie Soundtrack

Fave soundtrack is a tie between The Sweet Hereafter and Mulholland Drive. If I had to pick a third it would be Playing By Heart.

Fave movie song is I want Someone Badly (First Love, Last Rites).

Fave Theme Mulholland Drive Love Theme/Diane and Camilla

The 3 above are great, but as far as songs themselves go, it would have to be "Pet Sematary" by the Ramones!

Favourite song selection soundtracks: The Last Waltz, A Clockwork Orange (though I'm partial to the newer Wendy Carlos rebuffed version, it doesn't have "I wanna marry a lighthouse keeper"), Rushmore, Easy Rider, and Shoot the Piano Player.

Favourite themes: Vertigo, Psycho, Taxi Driver (big Herrmann fan), Close Encounters.

Favourite song usage in a movie: "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream in GoodFellas. An obvious choice, but it's just a perfect moment. Scorsese is real good at that type of stuff.

LMAO
That actually used to be my favorite movie theme back when I was in 4th grade or so (or however old I was when that movie came out).
...ah, memories.
----------------
My favorite film scores and themes/soundtracks and whatnot at this given point in time, in order of what comes to mind, are probably:
Rushmore
Magnolia
Superman (or most anything else by John Williams)
Requiem for a Dream
Unbreakable
Vanilla Sky
BeetleJuice
Edward Scissorhands
Opera
Suspiria
Back to the Future
Lord of the Rings
Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Are the only ones that come to mind at the moment, but of course, there are dozens and dozens more.

Score:

THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK; no Star Wars score comes close, I can't believe it lost the oscar to Fame!

Star Trek 2; no Star Trek score comes close, I can't believe Paramount is too cheap to get Horner back on Trek!

Song: Goldfinger and Thunderball

Yo're thinking of Elliot Goldenthal Riddler.

Well, this is an almost impossible question to answer because I'm the owner of hundreds of movie scores! I love them!

But Here are some of the ones I love and HIGHLY recommend:

JERRY GOLDSMITH:
The Omen
Damien: Omen II
The Final Conflict
The Haunting
Air Force One
Gremlins 2

JAMES HORNER:
Deep Impact
Titanic
Glory
ALIENS
The Perfect Storm

JOHN CARPENTER:
The Fog
HalloweeN
HalloweeN II
HalloweeN III

ELLIOT GOLDENTHAL:
Alien 3
Sphere

DANNY ELFMAN:
Scrooged
The Frighteners
Batman Returns
Dolores Claiborne

ALAN SILVESTRI:
What Lies Beneath
Back to the Future
Back to the Future II
Back to the Future III
Mousehunt
The Abyss

JOHN WILLIAMS:
Jurassic Park
The Lost World
JAWS
JAWS 2
Saving Private Ryan
The Empire Strikes Back

There are so many more, this is just a list of some really cool soundtracks.

Right now my favorite themes are:
What Lies Beneath
Journey to the Island theme from Jurassic Park
The Haunting

As far as scores go, Bernard Hermann's work for "Psycho" and "Vertigo" are just tops.

I really love the main theme to "Mononoke Hime"! Good stuff! ^_^

Thanx,
Brook

Batnight,
good list. With regards to JOHN CARPENTER, his score to Assault on Precint 13 is amazing! Try and give it a listen, and the movie a viewing if haven't already.

My favorite soundtrack is Requiem for a Dream. The theme music ("Summer Overture") is so haunting... Clint Mansell is God.
