from inentertainment.co.uk :

Due To 'Health and Safety Laws', Ford cannot have a real whip on set... it must not be CGI because 'whips are dangerous'.

There is a fear that Harrison Ford will walk and not make a fourth Indiana Jones movie as he has been told that he cannot use a real whip, Indiana Jones is most famous for the use of his whip to help him get out of situation but he has been told by the studio that is against new health and safety laws to allow him to use a real one so instead a computer generated has to be added in later

Ford has said that this rule is ridiculous and that he will pull out of the new movie unless he gets his whip back

just how pussified is the world going to get before before the Mooninites just come down and kick all of our asses ?

Ford was 38 when he began playing Indiana Jones. He was 46 when he last played Jones (not including the single episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles he was in, where he played a 50 year old, bearded Indy). A 64 year old Jones would not, I expect, be able to get around as easily as a younger Jones, especially given the cumulative effect of all those years dodging death.

it does not seem like a completely reputable site. I think this will just turn out to be a net rumor.

as for the mooninites, I was referencing the Boston 'bomb scare'. the mooninites are the 8-bit, 1980's video game looking dudes that make *boop**boop*boop* noises from the Aqua Teen Hunger Force series. They walk around saying how great the moon is and flip the bird.

Do hope its only a rumor....just doesnt sound right when you have all the various ways to rig a stunt and do a scene properly even with a real whip.

I'll change it if someone can tell me why they call Indy's hat a "Fedora."

Games are fun.

Alright, since no one else is playing.

The word comes from the title of an 1882 play entitled "Fédora" where the lead character wore that style of hat.

I think I would rather hear Tattiana talk a little bit more about the whips and chains that excite her

I wonder if the new villains in Indy 4 will be the Soviets. The best Indy films were when he was fighting the Nazis. You need that true evil to be the opposing force, and it's hard to believe a 64 year old Indy would still be facing Nazis. So Commies it is!!

Ahhh but whips are fun to use

depending on the length though does take some experience and some good flicking motions of the wrist to handle effectively (wait.....that just sounded very perverted .... hee hee)

seriously... I can handle a 6 foot bull whip but when my mom's boyfriend got one 12 foot one off ebay.......um..... ouch... practicing with it left me with more marks on my back from teh backlash LOL

Isn't Spielberg involved with all of those films in some way or another? Perhaps Spielberg is the devil.
