Huh? I'm taking that as once they see the trailer IAL will seem pale in comparison? Pale? Get it?

Maybe that's me... I always thought Burton was more of a fun and comic sort of director, despite the darker visuals.
It's possible you are right. My memory is that Batman was very dark (Joker's character, people getting killed), and that Batman 2 was also dark, but more comic (the Penguin was creepy, but still somewhat comic). I think the reason for me that Batman was so dark was because it was the bridge between the campy TV series, and the ridiculous Batman 3 and 4 movies. Comparing Nolan's view of Batman to Burton's is a bit unfair. I think Burton took Batman as dark as he could for that period of time. Nicholson did a fantastic job as Joker. Keaton played Batman as staid, but he was more convincing than Clooney or Kilmer.

I don't disagree that BB is the best so far, but I won't concede that Batman and Batman 2 weren't dark movies, and not just visually.

The IMAX preview will be the first 5 minutes of the movie. It, as stated earlier will not explain the Jokers origins. According to Nolan it will show the rise of the Joker:

Quote:
* That prologue that will be shown in IMAX in December is the first 5 minutes of the film.

*Here’s a translated quote from Chris Nolan: “[THE DARK KNIGHT] is not ‘The Joker Begins.‘ We did not want to tell how The Joker became what he is. In those five minutes [of the prologue], we show how The Joker goes from being a small-time crook to Gotham‘s greatest villain. It‘s like ‘The Rise of the Joker.’”
That was from BOF, as usual.

so, i read about it at rotten tomatoes and am a little confused-

are people in each of these cities physically going to these places and posting pics of them, or are we solving this individually by finding pics on the net and posting them?

it looks like people are posting it there one by one, and they will scramble to make a phrase.

It's an actual scavenger hunt done by people in the respective cities. It seems people are discovering letters of the alphabet which will ultimately spell something.

Here are some of the letters found

Edited: there is a picture underneath the paper!

This is beginning to feel more like a Joker movie than a Batman movie. Maybe the title should change from "The Dark Knight" to "The White Clown"?
