Looks fake to me as well. I trust the source when they say the image of the head was close to the final production look. The pic linked above doesn't really look anywhere near what was originally posted.

I work in a grocery store here in Savannah and this is the first product I've seen advertising the movie. Sorry about the size I thought it would be bigger it was taken with my blackberry.

A second TV spot that I didn't like as much as the first one.

I may end up traveling the 20+ miles to an IMAX for this.

I know that some of this film was shot in the IMAX format, but doesn't IMAX chop off the sides of the frame for the normal bits? Will you be viewing the film with black bars?

Nope everything will still display in the regular Scope aspect like what we will get in the regular theaters. So yeah it will be like watching it at home on your HDTV but will still contain the same OAR presentation. If i can figure out how to get a good photo i actually have some Harry Potter 3 IMAX film in my wallet.

I would find that distracting to jump from 2.35:1 to 1.44:1.

Man, they'll hock anything these days won't they?

Just how does Batman have anything at all to do with brownies?

I've never seen an IMAX movie, is that common with the switching of ratios with these theaters?

No it isn't. Every other big movie i have seen in IMAX have all kept their OAR to what we get in regular theaters. (Spiderman 2, Batman Begins, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Poseidon, 300, Superman Returns, Harry Potter:OoTP, Polar Express, and Matrix Reloaded being the ones i have seen) Only 4 scenes will be opened up to the full IMAX screen size before being brought back to their Scope setting afterwards.

Their is no masking movements during these scenes. The screen is always left open to its full potential. So you will get the entire screen filled for the 4 scenes filmed in IMAX film and then the rest will have the small black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. If its anything like my Batman Begins experience (which again stayed in the just the plain SCOPE ratio) we are in for a treat.

The best part about that poster for me is the fact that it's angled. It takes me back to the old TV show where the villains lairs were always shown a little off kilter.

I think I'm beginning to understand the new suit a bit more. Given this poster and many hints along the way, it seems Bats new suit is making more sense. To me that is, and yes I hated it.

Hated it = past tense. Kay?

Comcast has teamed up with The Dark Knight.

Under the videos link there is a "Making of the Clown Masks" along with a IMAX Featurette.

Depends on how far they want to go.

Some of the villains depart from the realism that these new films depict.

Certainly I wouldn't mind seeing the Riddler.

Of course there's also Mr Freeze, Clayface, Killer Croc but they might be considered too over the top.

There's also Hush, but he's not so well known.

...Mad Hatter too.

Well you can almost assuredly count on Two Face. I'd guess Riddler as the other.

I vote for Bane. Banes story was great and Batman and Bane never really meet until there confrontation after Batman has had to deal with all the escaped nuts from Arkham.
Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
I think the ending of the 3rd movie in this trilogy would be the image of Batman being lifted over Banes head and the having his back broken.

Bane, in the comics anyway, was intelligent, calculating and knew exactly what he wanted. I think Bane is the least cartoony of Batmans foes and could be a great ending to this set of films.

Bane (comics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) Spoilers of the Knightfall storyline for those unknowing.

The main Batman villains are really Joker, Two-Face, Rhas, Penguin and Riddler.

Considering Nolan doesn't like Penguin, and it's almost a sure thing Two-Face will be in the next one as well, I would bet we get Riddler and Two-Face, and maybe Scarecrow again since he survived.

But who knows.

I will say if they use Riddler they better use the comics one, a much more serious and deadly character, rather than the silly Jim Carrey one.

My personal favorite Batman villains have always been Scarecrow and Mad Hatter. I doubt we will ever see Mad Hatter on screen though, which is a shame, since he is VERY twisted and cool when done right (think Jeff Loeb's Halloween special).

I agree with your faves. Personally, Riddler & Mad Hatter have always been my favorites. I really like the MH.

I'd love to see Catwoman in Nolan's third film. The complex relationships between Batman and Two-Face and Batman and Catwoman would make for a very interesting film, I think.

I know I posted many, many pages back that I was on the fence about TDK, but time and trailers have changed me. I'm totally psyched for this movie.
