Well I think this one is, like R-dog said, not a redo of the origin. I also am not to fond of that look of the new Banner wearing a 'wife-beater' shirt but hey, I usually dislike comic to movie outfits (suits anyone?) and then cave into "COOL!" once I see it.

Well I certainly hope not.

Even if you didn't like the 1st one and want to ignore it I know I certainly don't want to go thru a whole "How he became the Hulk" bit again.

But you know they will. Studios think that the people going to see this film know nothing of the Hulk but yet know their biggest audience are comic book readers.

I'm hoping for, at best, an origin told through quick flash backs while the story progresses or a quick intro like the Hulk tv show

Norton doesn't look nerdy enough for Banner in this shot

Looks like Norton is about to quip "Come down to the coast, we'll get together, have a few laughs..."

Norton always looks nerdy. He looks more nerdy than Bill Bixby and Eric Bana did anyways..

Am I reading this right: Iron Man to cameo in The Incredible Hulk?

Quote:
For those who haven't heard the news, superhero house Marvel Comics is aggressively cross-pollinating its superheroes, most likely in preparation for an eventual "Avengers" movie. That means Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury will make a cameo appearance in May 2's "Iron Man," and ol' metalhead himself will drop into "Hulk." Little has been said about the scene — until now.

If anything more than a "flyby" it would have to be true to the other movie, no? If not, the whole continuity of these and future films would be potentially screwed.

Random thoughts from me!

No Iron Man from what I read, but we will see Gen. Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross (William Hurt) making a stop by Stark Industries. Talking and looking for new weapons to help him capture/take down The Hulk.

No your right. I'm sure if they have an Avengers movie planned then it'll be more significant that just a flyby. I'm sure it'll be important to future events.

From what I read it seems more like Robert Downey as Stark is what you'll see, not Iron Man in costume.

But, it would be ince if they can make these movies and have them tie in to
an Avengers.

Avengers was my favorite comic when I collected so I'd be into that!!

However they really need to do Captain America 1st, and if he's not done right it could be a disaster.

I would rather see a Captain America movie first as well....though they could really make Avengers a Captain American movie. Have him unfreeze in the future and follow his prep to lead the Avengers. That could be the first movie...then that tied directly into an actual Avengers movie.

I keep saying to people I talk to about this: This film is what the 2003 film should have been

That is what I am hoping, and so far that snippet has we going.

The last piece when his eyes start to change gives me hope. And Norton is a great, and IMO still underrated actor.

Alot of people in these forums I would say recognixe that, but I still think the general public overlook him for his talents.

I'm sorry it wasn't the 90 minutes of empty Hulk smash you were hoping for.

Actually, I am the biggest advocate for movies being around 2 hrs.
Unless you are a horror film, stupid comedy, or cartoon, 90 mins or less is a rip off to me.

I had no expectations for the movie- saw the tv show when I was a kid and nothing else, not even sure what "Hulk Smash" is- is it him just going nuts breaking crap?

My disappointment was based solely on seeing the movie itself, as a movie. What I do know is this:

1. The movie moved very slow.

2. The Hulk Effects were bad. And, I believe at the time technology was such that they could have done better. He looked in his closeups like a green Jose Conseco.

3. Plot- was there one? Army guy was after him, his dad had issues, they kept showing flashbacks that I didnt see as relevant. Really, I didnt know what the hell was going on, and it could have been saved by some kick ass action, but that never happened.

4. Along the same lines- what was up with his dad? And the fight at the end where they turned into big electric monsters? One thing I need in a movie like this is an understanding of "the why"- why is he like this, how did he get his powers, how do you kill him, what are his motives. All of a sudden Nick Nolte turns into this giant Zeus like cloud / electricity man, but I didnt know how he got that way, what he could do and how you stop him. Felt like they were reaching.

5. Good vs. Bad Theory- Every superhero should have an anti-thesis, an antagonist. A recognizeable foe we can identify. Builds tension, involvment with the character, and helps us route for the good guy. This movie had none, and the stuff with his dad seemed to come out of nowhere, almost like they thought it up at the end to fill the movie. They realized what the movie needed, but to do it right, they almost had to do the movie over from scratch. So, they stuck it at the end, which was too late.

As far as I last remember reading, the Abomination is in this movie. Guy audience will hate, or more importantly want Hulk to beat.

Like Batman Begins, it will have to overcome the bad taste people have from the last outing, or at least market itself cleverly enough so as to not be seen as a sequel.

Thats all I can think of now. But, compare it to the better comic movies of the last, oh say 10 years- Spiderman, Batman Begins, X-men, even Superman Returns- and they all have some combination of the above, if not all. And, a decent connection to the comic.

I think Ang Lee's Hulk was a great visual movie but missed its mark. The film focused way to much on Bruce and his daddy issues instead of his struggle with being the Hulk which is what the story is about.

So Hulk vs Albino Hulk???

The rest of the trailer looked great up until that last Matrix Revolutions rip off which I'm sure was ripped off from something else.

I'm glad it looks like they forgetting the first one even exists. Norton does indeed look to be making a much better Banner than Bana. yeah I giggle when I say that.

has anyone found one without the subtitles?

I thought that looked great. I especially like the parts where he is hiding and on the run, a little like the tv show.

And, with a battle at the end, could be fun.

Plus, Liv Tyler

Question to follow- has hse ever been nude or close to it in a film?
