No Kung Fu fans in the house?
I remembered seeing the trailer for this and was a bit worried about the "kid" involvement. Having watched it yesterday I can say that I am more than pleased with this legendary teaming of Jet Li and Jackie Chan. The story has enough humor, but not too stupid and the action scenes are fantastic, especially (and expectedly) the Li/Chan fight. I must say that I never gave Chan enough credit as a true martial artist. I had scene Drunken Master, but apart from that, most of the other Chan fare was things like Super Cop where he was more acrobatic and a little fighting. I was surprised how good he was with pure fighting styles. Does anyone have any recommendations for Chan fighting genre movies? The story was enough to keep you interested, but most likely you don't care, you know you are there to see Li and Chan and you get plenty of it and it is fun. As for the kid in the movie they did a good job of not making him into some "one training montage and now he's a master" scenario. Moreso throughout the movie whenver they get into a serious fight, they usually wind up disabling the kid to get him out of the way so the grownups can do the serious fighting, which I liked a lot. One thing that kind of worried me a little bit though is that I believe on ocassion Li and Chan were replaced by doubles. I know that isn't uncommon and probably quite likely for these guys given their age and some of the more acrobatic stunts. But I would like to think that they are such sticklers for the craft that they wouldn't let themselves be doubled. All in all great movie and a definate buy for me when it comes to Blu
