Hope it does turn out well... for you. To me it's a real bad reincarnation of Austin Powers. Saw it in the trailer in theaters recently and I'm pretty sure I heard chirping crickets when it ended.

Would someone please explain to Jessica Alba that her purpose on this earth is to be a hot piece of ass and NOT a comedic actress.

This movie looks absolutely horrible.

Alba is a HORRID actress. Unfortunately Hollywood would rather put eye candy in films rather then people who can actually act.

Yeah and your point? Why waste an actress with great talent on a movie like this?? Alba was made for movie like these. You can't name a movie that shes been in that would have been better had her part been cast differently.

guarantee if you put a supposed "better" actress in a role like this they'd overact it..shes good in these type of roles...and very easy on the eyes...if you are expecting more you are looking in the wrong place.

Nope sorry. Sin City was probably the only movie that she was good for. A dumb blonde stripper. Actually Alba and Murphy could have switched places and the movie would have been just as good.

It's amazing, back she broke out in Dark Angel she was heralded as a great young actress. Something broke when she moved to features. I really don't think she is that bad, but some people just like to be haters I guess.

I don't think she's a great actress either though I do think she's gorgeous.

On the other hand, she's never exactly had any great roles to play either.

Other then Dark Angel & Sin City she's never really done anything that would promote her from hot piece of ass eye candy to serious actress. She needs to stop taking the horror remake roles (Eye), goofy comedy roles & the romantic comedy stuff and I think she'll be ok

Love Guru looks to me to be possibly the biggest pos of the Summer. You could pay me to see it (but it'd really cost ya).

Looks like the rest of the country agrees.

Opened at #4 and made only $14M.

Get Smart did quite well, though ($39M).

That's what happens when a comic actor vanishes from the screen for half-a-decade...his audience moves onto other, fresher comics like Steve Carell.

That and that he's constantly playing the same type of character - some dude in a wig that's always pulling faces at the camera. We're starting to see the same thing with Will Ferrell. It can be funny but it just starts to get old after awhile.

Agreed... I remember seeing Austin Powers for the first time and laughing my ass off, but every movie he has done since has been the same exact thing all over again, and usually with some added marketing and pop culture crap added on top.

Glad the movie got its ass kicked.

So having seen the movie now, what's the verdict on Alba?
