Lethal Weapon 5

Yes, its seems the rumors are circulating once again. Shane Black (Creator of the Lethal Weapon Characters) has "turned in" a working script for #5.

I dont know where else you can take this franchise. I love the series and the characters. But even Im scratching my head on this one. I wasnt too fond of LW4 (mainly Chris Rocks character), and the fact that Riggs and Murtaugh were playing the "old couple" hell bent on finishing one last case, which they did. So now what?

Lethal Weapon 5 Rumors Rise Again

Lethal Weapon 5 Becoming a Possibility?

Moderator, fixed my title spelling please. Thanks.

I actually liked 3, to some extent... maybe because I watched it on HBO a hundred times when I was 16 or so.

4 was fucking terrible.

I pretend 4 doesn't exist, which makes a 5 impossible in my dimension.

See, thats why theres that lil bit inside of me saying make the movie to erase LW4 from existence. It worked nicely with Rocky. I dunno. Im on the fence here.

When the first movie came out the "I'm getting too hold for this shit" line was funny.
Now it actually applies to my life.

If Danny Glover's character was supposed to be 50 in the original film, how old would he be now, 71?

Fuck this. Not every single creaky, 80's action franchise deserves a belated sequel.

Surely, this being part 5, it will be titled Lethal Weapon In Space.

What about when the same line appeared 2 years earlier in To Live and Die in LA?

I think I'd rather curl up in my bathtub than watch this. The series ran it's toll on me long ago.

Am I the only one that thinks Mel has totally lost his marbles and probably won't do this film?

Really? I dunno... I guess the second flick has bigger, badder action sequences and all that jazz, but the whole thing about Riggs' wife just ruins it a little.

They'll probably hire Marco Beltrami.

He did okay with "Live Free or Die Hard", and his work on the first "Hellboy" movie was dang good.

Okay being the key word. He should have done BRILLIANTLY. Or they could have just got a better action composer, like Chris Young.

What I was getting at is, Beltrami seems to be the go-to guy for replacing dead composers on belated sequels or remakes. The Omen, Flight Of The Phoenix, 3:10 To Yuma, Live Free Or Die Hard...

Not that Beltrami's work was bad on any of those films, it was just an observation. I'm almost anticipating him replacing Basil Poledouris on that forthcoming Robocop reboot.

It shouldn't go to anyone other than Basil, but Beltrami has done more of these kinds of action flicks than Mansell.
