Help with Twin Peaks Season 1
The price for an original Twin Peaks Region 1 Season 1 set on ebay is outrageous. The region 2 - 4 sets are a little more tolerable and are pretty readily available.
does anyone have any suggestions on whether I should buy a Region 2 or 4 set ? |

You should wait. Paramount is going to re-release season one (including the pilot this time) in both a set of the complete series and a stand alone box. They haven't set a date yet, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't out by the end of the year.

Stand alone box? What does that mean exactly? Each season apart from the complete series? Dugpa you seem to be in the know. I had heard there was some complete package of Twin Peaks. What exactly will this include? S1,S2, and FWWM? Is it true that the special features will be different than what's out on S1 and S2 now. By that I mean the special features out now won't be included in the big set.

Paramount will release a box set that includes both season one and season two (and includes the pilot), in other words, the complete series. They don't have the rights to FWWM, New Line does. There's no word yet on what they'll do with the original extras from season one, but since they were able to release them on their sets in Europe (where they owned the rights and not Artisan), I suspect they have the rights to them here as well. You never know when a series season get's re-released if they'll keep everything the same, but there's no reason I can see why they won't make the season one sets here the same as their sets in Europe, which would mean they're the same as the original Artisan sets but with the pilot included. Probably sometime around or after when they release the complete series they'll release season one on it's own as well, which is what I meant by a stand alone box - just season one.

Hey dugpa, did you get this info from anywhere in particular? I remember reading rumors (on tvshowsondvd.com) of a complete series DVD release at some point in the future, but I can't seem to find any confirmation of it anywhere.
I was just hoping maybe you had some more info, or at least something more concrete that you found out there.

I'll buy it again just to get a better quality version of the pilot than the ones I own. I really wish the quality on S2 was as great as Artisan's. The picture was far better and the DTS was outstanding. Kinda sucks not having the consistency since FWWM also has stellar pic and DTS.
And the S2 interviews were good, but how about giving those director's commentaries. Would love to hear at least a few more.

Very nice. Odd cover though.
