Why "reality" shows have no future on DVD

Great online column by Dave Plotz of Slate showing just how desperately "Charlie's Angels 2" was marketed. The last paragraph is particularly revealing:

reality TV shows—in which the players are indentured by rigid contracts—are ruthlessly controlled by producers and publicists. They insist on a romantic storyline, regardless of truth. It is a delightful irony of the American entertainment industry that Demi and Ashton may be less fake than the stars of reality TV.
This is why I can't stand Demi Moore. Or Survivor.
