Problem with Moviesville.com
I purchased two dvd's from Moviesville.com thru Ebay on November 6th (eBay Items #6449176602 and #6449176599, Moviesville Order # 8601513). I was unaware that the items were shipping from Hong Kong, since the listing stated that the seller was in the U.S. They had 100% positive feedback, and many users spoke of their fast shipping. I waited patiently, but they left ebay and were "No Longer A Registered User" right after my transaction. UH-OH!! I kept in contact with them thru ebay about the transaction...with their short, concise emails that offered no details about how long to wait, or how long to expect shipping to take, continuously telling me just to WAIT, WAIT, WAIT. 6 weeks, 7 weeks, 8 weeks went by and NO DVD's. It has now been over 9 WEEKS and they stopped responding to my emails thru Ebay and have never responded to my email sent to Moviesville.com. I even left a message on their Voicemail and filed a claim with Ebay for "Items Never Received"....still NO REPLY.
I am left to assume that I will never see my order. This is very disappointing, and I just wanted to post here in the hopes that Lingling, or someone who would care, might come here and offer some help in the matter. I would love to know that these things work out sometimes, but I am feeling rather pessimistic at this point. Moviesville.com should really do the right thing by their buyers, as they are only hurting their reputation and credibility by leaving customers in the dark by witholding contact and being unavailable thru their email and voicemail. What else can a person do but come here and vent? : ( |

Sorry to hear about your bad eBay experience. I guess you didn't bother to check out their website beforehand. When a site has 2 language choices, between English and Chinese, chances are pretty good that it is an overseas company. Any site that sell VCDs are usually another hint that it is likely Asia-based, considering there is no VCD market in the US.
Did you already send them money? Did you send it via mail to a US address? If so, you might be able to file a fraud complaint with the US Postal Service. http://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/fraud/welcome.htm I'm sorry to say it's likely that your money is gone, and you've learned a lesson the hard way in dealing with overseas companies who operate on eBay. I'm just curious as to what you ordered and whether it was only available thru this Moviesville.com site, or whether it was cheap prices that encouraged you to use them. Usually, high shipping prices are another hint that the seller operates overseas. I rarely buy from eBay anymore, as saving a few bucks is often not worth the headache when you run across a fraudalent seller.
