Need a standard case

What we really need is a standard case that DVDs come in. I am new to DVDs and only have about 20 so far, but almost every company is different when it comes to the circle that holds the DVD in place. I am always worried that I am going to break one of my James Bond DVDs because of how tight they are in the case.

Can I use CD cases to hold DVDs or is there too much of a chance of scratching them?

Warner Brothers has a stake in the snapper case. That is why Warner Brother's DVDs use that brand.

Disney and Paramount have a commitment to using the Amaray keepcase.

20th Centry Fox prefers to use its own version of the Alpha case.

Other studios flip-flop between Amaray and Alpha.

Read the posts on Features vs. Standard Features and you will see that the studios can not come to agreements on much. Just that a disc includes menu and chapter stops.

There is going to be more competition as some smaller companies use a super jewel case and 20th Century Fox plans to introduce the thin case.

As for storing them in CD cases, so long as it is a jewel case you are fine.
