Found this over on the Hollywood Reporter's website-

"LONDON -- Britain's Minister for Competition and Consumer Affairs hasreferred to the Competition Commission the proposed acquisition by Blockbuster Entertainment of 41 stores from independent rental chain Apollo Video (HR 1/26). Minister Kim Howells, acting on advice from the Office of Fair Trading, said Wednesday he considered that the acquisition raises competition concerns in respect of the video rental market in the United Kingdom. The transaction would have the effect of removing Blockbuster's main competitor in south London and the southeast of England, and would significantly reduce competition within a number of local video rental markets." The Competition Commission is to make its report by Aug. 3."

Any country that hates Blockbuster, is a good country in my book.

Maybe if the hatred grows big enough, we can get the U.N. to adopt some sort of resolution that puts them out of business.

Think that could happen?
