The Salkinds' Suit and Superman
If it wasn't for Richard Donner the Superman saga would have sucked royal chunks from the very beginning. The Salkinds went out of their way to ruin this license on the big screen, which is a bit ironic because without them, *none* of the movies would have been made.
Now they're suing Warner Bros. for the distribution of III and IV on DVD. I can't imagine that this will have the sweeping effects on the industry alluded to in the cover story on dvdfile, eventhough judging from past suits revolving around the Salkinds, major impacts have already been made in the industry regarding payment of stars and the way people are credited for their roles in the production. Is this just snotty nosed redemption and why should Warner care? Discontinue the distribution of III and IV and then ask us if *we* care then wait for the resounding "no." The shelves of my local DVD retailers will be better off without them as though they never existed. --Scourge . [This message has been edited by Scourge (edited 05-23-2001).] |

Anything for money.
It should be a producer motto, even after their deaths. ------------------ http://www.wordsfromhere.com |
