HT magazines...
With the ability to find disc and hardware reviews on the net, plus being able to come to a forum like this and ask questions, have the HT/Stereo magazines lost their appeal?
Due to magazine press times, movie reviews, or even title announcements are terribly outdated. Hardware reviews fare better, but lets face it... a magazine that constantly publishes reviews of $20,000 speakers has kinda lost touch. Granted, there is a segment out there that can afford those prices. Then you've got the magazines that are, well, clueless. (Read; Sound & Vision) So, my question is this; (Took a long time to get to my point, huh? )How many here get subscriptions to magazines, or buy them on a consistent basis? What is the main reason you buy them?: equipment reviews movie reviews witty commentary something to read in the bathroom Just to window shop ------------------ Sean What if there were no hypothetical questions? |

I let my subscription to Stereophile Guide to Home Theater go, for the reasons you stated above.
It was nice to gawk at some of the new toys, and the hardware reviews were nice, but I couldn't justify the expense. ------------------ Taxi - DVDFile Forum Administrator Eleven plus two = Twelve plus one |

I currently don't subscribe to any HT magazines, but if I did it would be to stock the bathroom with reading material!
![]() I find MOST of my info on the web, mainly between the DVD File and AVS Forum sites (and links found on these sites). Peace..... |
