Security Tags - Thirteen Days Ripped Cover

Be careful when you remove the top security tag on the Thirteen Dyas case. The adhesive is stuck directly on the paper and it will rip when you remove it (carefully or otherwise).

This problem has actually been around for quite a while. It only happened to me once, when I bought "Airplane". I ripped the damned cover taking off the top security seal. Since then I check my DVDs before I purchase them. I noticed quite a few discs have this problem... its simply because the paper insert sticks out slightly above the plastic, like its not centered correctly. When I originally picked up Big Trouble in Little China, Traffic, and Castaway, I had to search through the rack to find one that had a "properly centered" paper that wouldnt rip.

Just a question: if you get one of these poorly put together packages and you do rip the plastic cover, can you get replacements? I wasn't paying attention when I picked up my die hard set this week (was drooling over the GT3 display) and DHwaV had its carboard cover sticking out of the plastic by a tenth of an inch and in trying to fix it I ripped the plastic all to heck. Is there anything I can do or am I stuck with my hasty tape job forever?

Well, Ive never actually ripped the plastic... just the paper insert. But, if you bought the thing from a place like Best Buy or a similar store with a really lenient return policy, just take it back and tell them it wouldnt play. They will exchange it for another of the same title without any hassle.
