Toshiba TN55X81, 55" HDTV-ready RPTV

I saw this new set advertised in the Good Guys circular in the Sunday paper. It is priced at $2,999.99. Though it isn't 16:9, this is one set I would consider buying because I do watch mostly 4:3 sources.

I will wait until Toshiba's 16:9 sets are released to compare the features and prices.

Chomping at the bit to go big screen.

Raymond.

Is this a line-doubled set? (The 65" toshiba widescreen is)

At the price you may be willing to pay, it would be a big mistake not to get a line-doubled set. This eliminates those flickering/moving scanlines you see on most RPTV's. This can mean a clear difference between a movie-like "feel" and a TV-like "feel".
