Sony service mode headache!!

A while back I got into the service mode of my Sony KV32S40 trying to do the 16x9 squeeze trick. Anyway I couldn't really get it to work that well so decided to change all the settings back to normal. I then realized that I had forgotten to note all of the values I changed, so I just reset everything back to factory default and went about my business.
About a week or so later I started noticing that whenever really complex patterns were being displayed on the screen they had some strange sort of banding or colorful swirls or interference would appear on my screen and I was wondering if maybe I reset something that was changed at the factory after it came off the line or something. It's really difficult to explain exactly what I'm seeing? It's like if something with a really tight colorful pattern was being displayed I would see kind of like a rainbow effect on that portion of the picture. Can anyone help me out? or know where I can get a service manual?

Also ever since my little service mode job I'm seeing a slight area of discoloration right at the edge of the visible image area on the right side of my TV screen, when objects go past that edge of the screen they turn slightly red or green for a split second, it's not always noticeable but it really bugs me.

Please help me!
Chris

I don't know the solution to your problem, but I suggest you do something about it fast, or you may risk permanent damage to your TV screen!

The best thing would probably be to bring in your set for repair - but your warranty probably became void when you opened your set, so it may cost you.

One thing you could do is to get the set adjusted and calibrated by an ISF technician. Then you'd end up with a better picture than ever before, and the money wouldn't be a total waste...

Thanks for the advice . Actually I didn't open the tv to get into the service mode, I just pushed a series of commands into the remot and had complete access. Do you think that if I took it in for repair they would know that I was messing around with the service commands?

It is possible that you never got the settings reset. On my sony TV if you write the settings into the memory on the set and then do the reset to factory defaults that only resets the user programmable options. The service mode settings are gone.

What model/size of sony do you have?
