Problem with player - DVDfile.com forum for DVD, Blu-Ray, and HD-DVD

Every time I try to play a DVD in my player (its a panasonic) it says it cant find the disc. I don't know why it does this (I've had it for over a year and it just recently started doing this). It will play audio cds just fine, but if you try a dvd it just cant find the disc. Any suggestions?

This may seem obvious, but have you tried using a laser lens cleaner? I have seen that message if the DVD was in upside down (don't ask

), or a CD-R disc is in it. Otherwise, it sounds like the laser may be out of alignment?
