Finally....finally....got a sub, baby!
...and I could use a little advice. I just acquired the Paradigm PDR1000 to go with the roomful of speakers I've got (B&W 6-series up front, Paradigm Atoms for surround). For movies, so far, the sound is spectacular.
For music, I've got standing wave problems though. The bass is thin in the sweet spot, but nice and full everywhere else in the house. I'm gonna move the sub around some more, but can anybody tell me how big a difference the phase shift control might make? Or any other suggestions? |

Hey-ey Joe
Where ya going with that Sub in your hand? ![]() Congrats to your new, um, baby! I think the best thing is to just move the sub around your living room, listen, move again, listen... sometimes a few inches make a big difference. Have a lot of fun! ![]() ------------------ Unca Dom, DDS-088 dvdfile.com moderator dominikpfleghaar@netscape.net |

Well, if it isn't too integrated into your room yet, I'd go and put the sub at your listening location and then walk around to all of the possible sub locations around your room and listen.
I'll bet that your room is squarish and your listening area is in the middle? The phase controll is very important. The easiest way to set this is to have a friend adjust the phase switch or dial as you listen. Chromy |
