dvd changers

I have waited to buy a dvd changer that has dts out. My Yamaha receiver has Dolby digital and dts decoders. Sony now has such a machine (c650d) but they have dropped the dual laser pick-up in favor of a new, and allegedly better arrangement.

Which feature is likely to be of greater importance over the life of the player?

Also, how do the various dvd changers from Panasonic and Yamaha match up in quality against the Sony. The Yamaha is $200Cdn more than the Sony and the Panasonic is $200Cdn less and nither one has a Dolby decoder built in (and I don't know whether the Sony does but I think it does) What justifies these large price differences? Anything?
