JVC XV511BK and "Contact"

Has anyone else had a problem with JVC players and "Contact" or "The Matrix"?

It played on a Pioneer DVD fine.

"The Matrix" is a feature-heavy title that reportedly causes problems on a variety of players. The only problem I have experienced on my Toshiba SD-3108 is difficulty navigating some of the menus using the cursor-up/down/right/left buttons. It does sound like it may be the interaction between your player and the discs.

I am going to try the JVC XVD701BK. If this one still fails, I'm probably going to go with a Pioneer. I purchased the DVD player from 800.COM and received $75 in Free movies. So if I don't like the new one, I'm out an extra $75.

I haven't had a single problem viewing or navigating The Matrix dvd on my Sony DVP-S300. Nor have I with any dvd I've watched.

Awesome movie isn't it?!
