Calibration questions.
Just got my first 16:9 RPTV. A Panasonic PT47WX49, i've done everything I can with the user menus, but the picture isn't to my liking yet
, I know I can get a better picture from it.What's the best way to calibrate it short of ISF coming out? Avia? Video Essetials? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Hi! I'm not sure about Panasonic HDTVs, but you should try to do a 9 point convergence (or the equivalent of that) and maybe even the more involved 56 or 64 point convergence.
If you go over to the Home Theater SPot, there will be a Panasonic forum where you can find ALL the info you want/need for your HDTV. I have a Toshiba 57HX81 and the Home Theater SPot has been an invaluable resource in getting tweaking help with my HDTV. Also, you should NOT expect the set to start "performing" until the 100 hour burn-in period has passed. During this period, the convergence may drift and the set will NOT perform at its best. One last thing, when you want to watch a movie or TV, turn the TV on and give it about 30 mins to "warm up". That might help with your current video performance issues some. Good luck! ![]() Peace....

I own a Thomson rptv and here in sweden they dont tell you how to get into the servicemeny. Its kind of tricky, you had to hold in a few button on the front of the set while pushing the power button. Well anyway in the servicemeny you should be able to do a more anvanced convergence. I have upp to 195 points to align on my set. If you have a little patience you dont even need the video essentials, there will probably be a convergence pattern built in the tv set. ohh, and if your screwing around with the other variables in the meny dont forget to write down your changes.
Best of luck. The Swede..... |
