RCA =Great Suckage

Hey,

I got my Direct tv today the guy installed all the stuff (read dish) and when it came time to install the sat box he looked at my setup and asked how i wanted to hook it up. I had the tivo there so i had to hook it up to the vcr first so he could do the dish then activate the card. then after he left i hooked the directv up to the tivo useing the serial cable connecting to the low speed data port (this is so the tivo can change the channels on the sat) I did the setup for my tivo then tried to change the channel, instead to the channel changin i get a message saying it was sreaching for the dish. ? I tried everything i could think of to get it to work. I called RCA and told them everything (read: the stuff you have read so far) the lady told me that the low speed data port on the rca boxes was useless because no product was ever made to use it, I told this woman that the "TIVO USES IT" then she started giving me BS answers (i know i do tech support) I told her i had a box at my grandmothers house that DID WORK with the low speed data and the tivo, if i changed the cards out would they still work? she said "Thats not my area"

I drove 2 hours to get the old box and swicthed everything out now i am tivoing on my new sat

Tivoing? is that right?
