Toshiba SD-2300 Questions / DVD Text Stuff

Just got the SD-2300 and everything is sweet. But it says it has DVD text... I take it that is when the title of the movie is displayed on the little display window on the player. I have seen it do that on other players such as SONY, etc. But I cannot get it to work on the SD-2300 even when I have the TEXT func on. I called Toshiba and they said it should work... the book that came with it is NO help. Anyone have this player too or know whats up or am I thinkinf that the DVD text is the wrong thing...
Thanks in Advance.

I don't believe every disc has a DVD Text string, but it is what you think it is. Same thing as CD-Text, which is also rare (I have maybe 3 CDs in a collection of 300 that display CD-Text, that I know of).

I think Disney and its subsidiaries regularly puts the title on a release, but as far as other studios, it may be a bit of hit and miss as to when it's done.

I know for certain that the soundtrack to the phantom menace has cd text, if you have it you can test your player with it. I'll browse a few of my dvds tonight and report on a few that have text.

Thanks DEEPFRY! I tested that soundtrack and sure enough it worked. What gets me though is I know some movies I have that do text on SONY's players dont work on mine... guess they dont have a standard worked out yet. Thanks again, I am glad at least that it works somewhat so far.
