Digital Direct Progressive Scan

Some JVC players have the feature "Digital Direct Progressive Scan". Is this any different from what we all commonly know as progressive scan? Is the "digital direct" part just a fancy way of saying "built in digital line doubler - duh!" I hate when they can't list features without giving it some brand specific name, as if they're doing something nobody else does (i.e. the Superbit "Format")
