Opinions of Kenwood VR-5090 Receiver Needed

I'm interested in purchasing this receiver but I would like some opinions on it first.

Thanks

The specs look good. Have you heard it in person? That will be the ultimate deciding factor in your decision. Unfortunately, I have never heard it and other than looking at specs on a website, I cannot say weather it is a good unit or not. Check it out at a shop that will let you give it a good test drive.

For other options you might try this one. Denon AVR 3802 MSRP's for $1200. It's not THX, but has the amps (at 105WPC) for 6.1. There are many others in that price range. you should audition at least three units before you make a final decision.

Have had this unit for about five years now. Have had no problems what so ever. Sound is excellent, switching is good, video is very good. Getting used to the remote takes alittle bit, but is good after. Plenty of power. I am using the preouts for the back surround channels. You have to use a seperate two channel power amp for those two channels. The sound is great.

Why did you dig up a 7 year old thread?
