Can someone explain this 'chroma bug' to me?

I know that it somehow incorrectly displays colors, and that a lot of players have it, including the Toshiba 4700 which I was about to purchase. I guess my question is, to what extent is this a problem, and why are they still releasing DVD players with this so-called 'bug'?

First read this:
http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volum...e-10-2000.html

(this talks about progressive scan vs interlacing)

then this special report:
http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volum...ug-4-2001.html

(this discussed the chroma bug specifically)

Peace.....
