If I get a prog scan player for my reg. wega tv

My question is if i get a popular prog dvd player like the panasonic rpg and hook it up to my regular wega tv, will I get a good looking signal. I mean will i benefit from this highly rated machine for it's a/v properties. Obviously I cannot take advantage of the prog scan capabilities. I just don't see the point in buying a non progressive scan player for the SAME PRICE AS A progressive one.

Thanks in advance

Well, if it's the same price, why not? Maybe in teh future you'll get a progressive capable TV.

hey, 1138, do you remember our experience with the Sony pro player and the Panny non? Using the interlaced picture it was almost as good on Chromy's HDTV as the Sony pro unit. I'd say give it a side by side compairson if you can...

If you can't have both at the same time, find a store with a liberal return policy and try them both out.

remember...only you have to be happy with the end result, as you are the one handing over your hard earned green.

hope this helps

Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid, with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?

Yeah, which also might say a lot about the quality of the line doubler in Chromy's HDTV. (maybe Mits do that right? )

Anyway, I agree with j that the best bet would be to get them both and do a comparison to see if there is a difference to you, and is the difference worth it.
