dts/rca/ sony

Ok I have a kinda dumb question but shouldnt all dvd players be able to decode dts? also is there a difference in a digital co-axial cable and a regular rca cable? I tried to watch a movie in dts and my sony str-de675 didnt detect a signal in dts. I have a older rca dvd player which Ihave never had any problems with but the manual says nothing about dts. Help!!!

Not all DVD players have dts decoders built-in or dts digital output. If the DVD player DOES support dts, it will have a dts logo on it.

If you want a player that supports dts, make sure it has the dts logo on it.

Peace.....

Some older models could send DTS out over the digital connection even though they weren't spec'd to. But those are hit and miss.
