Pls help. Why does my rear speakers crackle a distorted noise when on menu screen?
I noticed this crackling noise in my rear speaker when most of my dvd menus are in Dolby Pro Logic. But when it's in Dolby Digital, it sounds just fine. What should I do?

Could be a decoder problem. Is this a new receiver for you? Could be your cables too. Make sure they are all tightly plugged in. (this wouldn't be it if DD sounds right though).

Well, since DD sounds all right, I'd focus ore on the receiver or player.

My receiver is Yamaha RX795. My player is Pioneer DV-505. Does the sound on your rear speakers sounds fine when navigating the menu screens on most DVD movies which mostly runs only in Dolby Pro Logic? Yes, my wiring is good cause it runs Dolby Digital properly.

Well, maybe it's speaker wire problems since in DPL, the surrounds are taken out of the front channels. Sometimes you'll hear bleed over in the rears where you here a little of the front speakers.
