Sony 57hw40 and the Xbox...please help

I just got a Sony 57hw40 and picked up an Xbox yesterday. While playing I noticed a lot of jaggies on the games, especially Project Gotham Racing. I was told by some friends that this is a result of my TV not the games. I am using a component hook up from the Xbox to the TV. Some basically I am trying to find out what I need to do to get rid of these jaggies on the games? What setting to I need to change??

does the tv have a line doubler?
if so, make sure it isn't on progressive. that may help.

-maybe someone else has another suggestion?

What resolution are you playing in? If its in 640 resolution then that is the reason you get the jaggy's. On 3d objects you want as high a resolution as you can get so more pixels make everything look better. But am not sure how consoles work with regards to resolutions...which I why I tend to stay with PC games as you can easily crank the resolution up to 1024 or 1200+ for most games.

Since you are using component...check the Xbox main menu to see if there is a setting for HDTV/prograssive scan...or in the game options itself. Although I've heard the aliasing in Xbox is fairly apparent in some games no matter what.
