well i was having trouble playing disc in my dvd player i would put the disc in then after the attenion thing with interpol. the right before it changes titles to go to the 20th century fox. it hangs now it dose this with disc 2 and 4 of xfiles season one disc two of xfiles season 2, and it sometime dose it and sometime it dosen't even do it
ie: xfiles season 4 disc it worked just fine the first time i tested it but when i put it back in the disc would not start like it should. its a jvc-xv-511 could it be going out its the first one(s) that jcv made

Warrenevans, I don't know how old this player is or how long you've had it. But, I had the same time of trouble, loading certain discs, and just had to get a new player. I had that problem with my first player, a Toshiba, which I got back in '97. It just couldn't handle some of the newer discs. I don't know if that is your problem, too, but I wish you luck!

If you do have to get a new one, don't forget about its ability to play CD-R discs. I didn't think about that and now I regret it. Also, I would think you should probably go ahead and get a progressive scan player as well. That is, IF you do have to get a new one.
